A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towels Lioba Schreyer recommends Amor Towels's A Gentleman in Moscow (2016): "Sentenced to house arrest in 1922 by the Bolshevik tribunal, the Count has to adapt to his new life while remaining the eponymous gentleman you'll quickly grow to love. Following the revolution, Russia is changing. While the changes find their way through the revolving doors into the grand hotel, the Metropolitan itself remains largely the same. That is until – through those same revolving doors – enter old friends and new, a mysterious woman, a curious girl, and a fiend who knows the right people and ends up in charge of the hotel. The only one who doesn't cross the threshold is Count Rostov. That is until... You better see for yourself! A Gentleman in Moscow is one of the most beautifully written books I have read in some time. You might even find yourself never wanting to leave the Metropolitan again."
